Supernormal x LUNE

For the month of March and in celebration of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, Supernormal and LUNE croissanterie teamed up to create the Supernormal x LUNE Kouign Amann.

This joint interpretation of the Kouign Amann (pronounced "queen a-mahn”)  was developed to mark the return of autumn and cooler weather - with rich flavours of caramel parfait, hazelnut, white chocolate & vanilla cream.

Originating in 19th century Brittany, the Kouign Amann has developed a reputation for being the most decadent pastry in all of Europe. Traditionally consisting of laminated and caramelised sweet pastry, this version of a LUNE classic is supercharged with cardamom and white pepper woven between innumerable layers of glass-thin croissant flakes, which are tightly wound and packed with sugar and butter to make a glossy, crunchy, crackling cake.

We gave it the Supernormal treatment - because everything is better with parfait.

Throughout March, our much loved peanut butter staple took a break to make way for this collaboration.
