Brunch with the MSO

On Tuesday 30th July we were delighted to host a brunch with a performance by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The performance was inspired by the National Gallery of Victoria's Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series exhibiting China's ancient terracotta warriors, alongside contemporary works by Cai Guo-Qiang.

MSO cellist Michelle Wood curated a stunning programme including a range of diverse works including Song of the Birds by Pablo Casals – in reference to Cai Guo Qiang’s 10,000 birds installation Murmuration (Landscape). The string quartet also performed the beautiful Cantilena Pacifica by Australian Composer Richard Meale, providing a contrast of contemporary Australian and traditional Chinese folk pieces.
